Date of completion November 2012
- In October 2012 Cangro and Centurion Mall launched the Centurion Mall ‘Cangro a Future’ project to encourage recycling and sustainability at three schools in Centurion – Bakenkop, Wierda Park and Hennopspark. For the next two months the children had to care for their tomato plants. At the same time the schools were encouraged to participate in a recycling programme. The three finalists were Lehan van Aswagen, Jayden van der Lely and Johan Janse van Vuuren from Hennopspark. With Jayden ultimately winning overall and become our very first “young gardener of the year”. Hennopspark also won R10 000 sponsored by Centurion Mall for collecting almost three and a half tons of waste material. Cangro is privileged to have been a part of this project and thanks Centurion Mall for the part that they played and the three schools for their enthusiastic participation.
